Bhaishajya Raja

Bhaishajya Raja, also known as “Eastern Medicine Buddha Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata”, is the leader of the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World in Buddhism. In Chinese Buddhism, Medicine Buddha is regarded as the Great Physician who can cure the physical and mental illnesses of sentient beings, and is especially respected in Mahayana Buddhism. One of the twelve great vows made by Medicine Buddha Lapis Lazuli Light Tathagata is to hope that sentient beings will be healthy and free from illness. Therefore, many people will pray for the protection and blessing of Medicine Buddha when they are unwell or facing illness.
The image of Medicine Buddha is usually holding a medicine pot in the right hand and a bell in the left hand, symbolizing that Medicine Buddha uses medicine and the bell of wisdom to remove the suffering of sentient beings. There is often light behind him, representing Lapis Lazuli Light, symbolizing purity and innocence.
In Buddhist practice, the belief in Medicine Buddha not only gives people spiritual comfort, but also encourages people to actively face difficulties in daily life, purify their minds through practicing Medicine Buddha Dharma, and then achieve physical and mental health.
